Oh we've seen movies about comic books before. Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spider Man 3, Batman, Superman... Movies about Comics are nothing new.
Why, then, did it take this long to discover a comic strip about Movies?
Multiplex, written by Gordon McAlpin. is just such a comic. Set in a movie theatre, the characters deal with typical workplace issues: making minimum wage, dealing with strange coworkers and cultural tensions, handling aggrivating customers and finding ways to fill down time. What sets Multiplex apart is the the ability to talk in a timely fashion about movies - what's good, what's terrible and what changes would have made the terrible something great. Every part of the movie theatre experience is lampooned, often irreverantly. Funny in every strip but with characters that come to matter as you read through the archives.
Updated on Mondays, Multiplex is one comic that should absolutely be added to every movie lover's weekly webcomic round up.
